State aid: Commission approves €3.2 billion public support by seven Member States for a pan-European research and innovation project in all segments of the battery value chain.

 

In nowadays, e-mobility is definatey the trend in the coming years due to the climate control and more environmental way to drive an electric vehicles, nevertheless, the most concern is always the driving range, EU now is focusing to encourage the following four areas to bring the most advanced technology to provide the reasonable and market-acceptable driving range:

Raw and advanced materials;

Cells and modules;

Battery systems;

Repurposing, recycling and refining;

Seven participants are benefiting from the total €3.2 billion subsidies:

Belgium has sought approval to grant up to approximately €80 million (Automobile OEM);

Finland up to approximately €30 million (SISU);

France up to approximately €960 million (PSA/Renault/PGO/Talbot);

Germany up to approximately €1.25 billion (VW/Audi/BMW/Benz/Porsche/Opel);

Italy up to approximately €570 million (FIAT/Maserati/Lamborgini/Pageni/Alfa Romeo);

Poland up to approximately €240 million (Automobile OEM);

Sweden up to approximately €50 million (Volvo);

As we well known about the EV’s propulsion is by hundreds of lithium-ion battery units,all of these units must be tested under very strict regulations and following these international standards(IEC/UN38.3/UL/IEEE and etc.), from the raw material, battery core, battery module to battery pack, it has the complicated test protocols to follow, all these tests are just to make sure it is 100% safe for the end user to use,especially in the environmental tests,it requested up to 30 cycles of the tests to be accomplished,we just happened to have the designated full solution for all the lithium-ion battery to run the environmental tests:

High temperature drying oven:

up to +70℃±2℃, keep the battery inside for continous 7 hours,the result should be no out of shaped for the battery;


High & low temperature cycling:

-20℃ to +75℃ to do high,low temperature cycling:

* Put sample into chamber at +75℃±2℃ for 4 hours;

* Cool down the temperature to +20℃±5℃ within 30 minutes and maintain at least 2 hours;

* Cool down the temperature to -20℃±25℃ within 30 minutes and maintain at least 4 hours;

* Heating up the temperature to +20℃±5℃ within 30 minutes and maintain at least 2 hours;

* Repeat step 1 to 4 with 4 cycles;

* After finished the total 5 cycles,battery place into ambinet for another 7 days for further observation;
